1950s paper and card patisserie sign
£220 - Now Sold
One of the most interesting and quirky items we’ve ever come across: a primitive 1950s patisserie sign. The letters are cut from paper and pinned to the painted backboard. And the cartoon-like pastry chef has been hand-painted onto cardboard and attached to the board with a very basic wooden structure, as shown in the listing images. There is some deterioration to this, but given the fragile nature of the elements involved, it’s extraordinary that it’s almost intact given its age. It would be a fantastic talking piece in a café or cake shop, or also in a private house.
Obviously this is for interior use only!
